Reception have been learning about Humpty Dumpty; his part as a cannon during the English Civil war and how his great fall lead to a temporary break from the monarchy. We changed a line in the nursery rhyme from ‘All the King’s horse and all the King’s men’ to ‘All the King’s horse and all the King’s forces’ following a discussion on how women and girls did not have equal rights in this country for many years. The children helped make our own Humpty Dumpty and wrote some presumptive warning captions.
