The Scoop Week 27th June 2023

Hello Lyndhurst Family,

What an amazing weekend we have had! For those of you who could make it to the summer carnival you will know exactly what I am talking about, for those of you who were not able to attend it was simply magical. The music, costumes, food and most importantly the atmosphere really were brilliant. I know that many of our new parents were deeply impressed to see what we mean when we say that, at Lyndhurst we are a big family. My deepest thanks go to everyone who made the carnival happen.  This week we continue to be busy in school as we mark Refugee Week with a series of PSHE conversations and stories.

Here are this week’s announcements.

Summer Holiday Camp
Bookings are now open for our summer holiday camp. Remember that all profits go to the school. The holiday camp continues to get rave reviews and in fact we have had enquiries from schools in Dorset as word has reached that far. You can book here.

Communication
A reminder that our escalation process for concerns can be found both on our website and in the parent guide. If you have something that you want to share with us more informally but are unable to talk to someone at the gate or in the playground then you can use the ‘what’s on your mind’ section of our website—which can be found on the contact us page. This sends your thoughts directly to our core leadership team.

Friends of Lyndhurst Meeting
You can find the minutes from the last FOL meeting by following this link. You can also see details of the model constitution for FOL that is mentioned in the minutes.

Art Week Competition
We had a brilliant art week last week. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who organised or supported a workshop or activity. It really was a brilliant week. Much of the art produced will be displayed in the art exhibition later this term. We do still have an art week competition running, details can be found here.

SRE Consultation Monday July 3rd.
On Monday, 3rd July at 6pm in the upper hall we will have a SRE consultation. This is a chance for you to see how and why we teach Sexual, Relationship Education at Lyndhurst. We will explain the content, our statutory duty and give you the opportunity to see the resources and to ask questions about them.

Year Six Musical Production
Tickets can still be secured for our musical extravaganza happening this week. Please use this link. The performance is set to be fantastic. Any proceeds from refreshments before the show and during the intermission or from ticket donations will fund the following years production. We really do hope to see families from all year groups attend so do purchase a ticket. The show will start promptly and we will not be able to admit late entries until the intermission so please arrive on time.

Industrial Action
Please see the letter sent out today that outlines what will be happening during the industrial action scheduled for next week.

That’s it from me, have a great week everyone.
