The Scoop Week 19th Dec 2023

Having started the performance schedule last week with a spectacular Nursery Winter Showcase, I am sure that like me you are full of excitement for the winter concert tonight. Today pupils and staff will be putting the final touches to what has been a long process or preparation. Please remember that pupils all need to be in a green top and black bottoms for the performance.

Here are this week’s notices:

Winter Concert:

Please ensure that pupils arrive at St Giles church by5:45pm in a green top and black bottoms (PE kit). We are aiming for a 6pmstart. If you have a pressing reason why you need to collect your child from the concert early, you must make arrangements with the class teacher before the concert begins. FOL will be selling items at the performance to raise money.

Reports Yrs1-6:

For families with children in years one though to six, you will today receive your termly report. This year we are reporting on the standardised tests for reading, writing and maths as well as a teacher assessment for writing. This is just a snap shot for your information, the next round of parent meetings in March and the summer term full report will provide a broader picture. For families with children in EYFS your reports fall on a different cycle and will come out in Feb and at the end of the year.

Catering Company Town Hall Meeting:

On Monday, 11th January Olive Dinning, our catering provider, will host a town hall event at school starting at 3:45pm.The meeting will be in the Upper Hall and will provide a chance for them to talk about their vision for Lyndhurst and for families to ask questions or raise concerns.

Festive Hampers:

We are delighted to be working with Karen Mclaren Virtual Executive Support who have an amazing project that brings festive hampers to those who may for a variety of reasons find this period tricky. The hampers are full of essential food items, dental care items, period products and STEM kits. The hampers are made from the generous donations of community partners. If you know of anyone or any company who would be interested in being involved in the 2024 campaign, please get in touch.
