The Scoop Week 21st March 2023

Hello Lyndhurst Family, I hope that you have all admired the small but exciting changes in the playground and nursery area. Some of the more inquisitive of you may have even spotted the work that has started in the Michael Joyce Memorial Garden. A few teachers had another big push on Friday night building a raised bed and laying the edging for a pea shingle path.We think we have one more big push and then we will be there. We desperately need lots of helpers this coming Saturday. If you can give a few hours or the entire day, it will all help. No skill or experience needed just the willingness to throw yourself in (and a shovel and wheelbarrow if you have one!).  If you can join us we will start at 10am.Here are this week’s notices.Pupil Absences:We know that everyone gets sick from time to time, if your child is unwell or unable to come to school please either call or email the office. IF we haven’t heard from you, we will have to text, email and phone you until we can determine where your child is and that they are safe.End of Spring Term Reports:We continue to trial our end of term reports. You will be able to give us some feedback on these in our parent survey in the summer term. The spring term report for years 1-6 will give you a snapshot of your child’s attainment (both teacher assessed and from statutory assessments) for this term and the last term. The reports will be given out during your parent conference meetings, so please ensure that you have booked one using the link sent out last week.Parents Conferences:Our parent conferences (parents evening meetings) take place this Wednesday and Thursday. Hopefully, you have all booked a time with your class teacher. A reminder that year five parents can also book a slot to discuss secondary school options for next year.Red Nose Day:A thank you to everyone who donated on Friday to our Red Nose Day appeal. We raised around £200. A huge thank you also to Mr Peddle and Ms Swann who organised and lead the activities for the day. You can still donate using this link.SEND Newsletter:You will have hopefully received our second SEND newsletter last week, in which we had a call out for anyone wanting to be involved in the set up of our sensory room and reminded families about our coffee morning on Wed 29th March.Easter Camp Bookings Open:You can now book a place at our amazing on-site Easter Camp click here for more information. Past camps have had great reviews from families and of course all profits go towards the school.Dressing for the Weather:Lastly, please can we remind you to ensure that your child has suitable clothing for the weather. Whilst we all hope that we’ve seen the last of the frosty mornings and spring showers there is still the risk of rain and pupils are expected to be outside. We do have a small number of jackets that we can lend out but it is preferable for each pupil to have a warm, waterproof jacket in school each day.Have a great week and I hope to see lots of you on Saturday.Key Dates:Tuesday 21st  Mar- Spring ConcertWed 22nd  and Thur 23rd Mar – Parent ConsultationsWed 29th Mar- SEND Coffee Morning 9:05 in Library Fri 31st Mar- Last day of termMon 17th Apr- First day of termFri 5th May- King’s Coronation Activity DayMon 8th May- Bank HolidayTue 9th-12th May—KS2 SATS week
